I speak about purchasing decisions for legal services, in particular how Procurement, in-house counsel, and CEOs buy legal services.

I am very passionate about the topic and aim to “edu-tain” with an interactive approach. Depending on the audience, I take the 40,000 foot helicopter view on our industry or give “granular”-level advice with practical take-aways.

What others say:

“Dr. Hodges Silverstein is a passionate and thought-provoking speaker who connects with her audience by using humor, multimedia and real life experiences to punctuate her message. She challenged and emboldened the members of our global law department to innovate and lead industry change – we were left energized and inspired.” (Robert Ingato, EVP & General Counsel, CIT Group Inc.)

“Silvia provided our law firms from across the globe with a fresh, energetic and data driven presentation on the client perspective on the purchasing of legal services. This inspired broad and I must say passionate discussion around new ways of driving revenue in the ever faster changing business of law.” (Tanna Moore, President and CEO, Meritas law firms worldwide)

“Silvia’s talk was eye-opening and insightful. She has a deep understanding of where clients are heading and got us ready to explore new opportunities for the future. Her presentation paved the way for a very constructive and productive strategy meeting. Thank you, Silvia.” (Carolyn Rumpf Sandano)

“Silvia skillfully delivered the ‘good, bad and the ugly’ reality of the role the procurement department plays in hiring law firms. The Partners left the session understanding how to compete and differentiate themselves in a proposal setting when procurement is leading the effort.” (Jennifer Manton)

“My hope was that Silvia’s presentation would show my partners an evolving world of formal procurement of legal services and big-data analysis of law firm performance that most didn’t know existed. It was a big success. Several practice group leaders said afterward they were deeply appreciative of her talk; one said ‘that was the most important message the firm has heard in a long time.’” (Marketing partner, AmLaw 100 firm)
